The FSUSB42 is a bidirectional, low power, two port, high speed USB2.0 switch. It is configured as a double pole double throw (DPDT) switch and is suitable for switching between two high speed (480Mbps) sources or high speed and full speed (12Mbps) sources. The FSUSB42 is USB2.0 compliant with a very low on-capacitance (CON) of 5.5pF. The device's wide bandwidth (720MHz) exceeds that required to pass the third harmonic, resulting in exceptionally low signal edge and phase distortion. Excellent channel-to-channel crosstalk performance also minimizes interference. The FSUSB42 includes special circuitry on the switch I/O pin for applications where the VCC supply is powered down (VCC=0), making the device robust against overvoltage conditions. The device is designed to minimize current consumption even when the control voltage applied to the SEL pin is lower than the supply voltage (VCC). This feature is especially useful in ultra-mobile applications such as cellular phones; it provides direct interface to the general-purpose I/O of the baseband processor. Other applications include switching and interface sharing in mobile cellular phones, PDAs, digital cameras, printers and notebook computers.

The MC74HC4066A uses silicon-gate CMOS technology to achieve fast propagation delay, low on-resistance, and low off-channel leakage. This bidirectional switch/mux/demultiplexer controls analog and digital voltages that vary over the full supply range (VCC to GND). The HC4066A has the same pinout as the metal gate CMOS MC14016 and MC14066. Each device has four independent switches. The device is designed so that the on-resistance (RON) is more linear over the input voltage range than the RON of metal-gate CMOS analog switches. The on/off control input is compatible with standard CMOS outputs; with pull-up resistors, it is compatible with LSTTL outputs. For an analog switch with voltage level shifter, see HC4316A.
