The VHCT08A is an advanced high-speed CMOS 2-input AND gate fabricated in a silicon-gate CMOS process. It achieves high-speed operation similar to an equivalent bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining CMOS low power consumption. This internal circuit consists of 4 stages including buffered outputs that provide high noise immunity and stable output. A protection circuit ensures that 0V to 7V is applied to the input pin regardless of the supply voltage and the output pin at VCC = 0V. These circuits prevent device damage due to mismatched power supplies and input/output voltages. This device can be used as an interface between 3V system and 5V system and both power systems such as battery backup.
