Linear Voltage Regulator (LDO) The GM1204 is a low dropout voltage regulator optimized for fast transient response. The device is capable of delivering 3A of output current with a typical dropout voltage of 325mV. Operating quiescent current is 1mA, dropping to less than 1µA in shutdown. Quiescent current is well controlled in dropout mode; as with many other regulators, quiescent current does not rise in dropout mode. In addition to fast transient response, the GM1204 has very low output voltage noise, which makes the device ideal for sensitive RF power supply applications. The output voltage range is 1.21V to 20V. The GM1204 regulator is stable with output capacitance as low as 10µF. Internal protection circuitry includes current limiting and thermal limiting. The device has fixed output voltages of 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, 5V, and adjustable output voltages with a 1.21V reference voltage.
