This fixed output low-drain (LDO) linear regulator is suitable for handheld communication equipment and portable battery-powered applications requiring low quiescent current. This series features an ultra-low quiescent current of 2.5 µA. Each device contains a voltage reference device, an error amplifier, a PMOS power transistor to set the output voltage, resistors for current limiting, and temperature limiting protection circuitry. The NCP562 series has an enable pin for on/off control. The NCP562 is suitable for use with low-cost ceramic capacitors and requires a minimum output capacitance of 0.1 microF. The device features a tiny SC82-AB surface mount encapsulation. Standard voltage versions are 1.5, 1.8, 2.5, 2.7, 2.8, 3.0, 3.3, 3.5 and 5.0 V. Other voltage versions are available in 100 mV steps. Lead-free plating options available.
