The FAN3100 2 A gate driver delivers high peak current pulses with short switching intervals for driving N-channel enhancement mode MOSFETs in low-side switching applications. The driver is available with TTL (FAN3100T) or CMOS (FAN3100C) input thresholds. Internal circuitry holds the output low until the supply voltage is within operating range, providing undervoltage lockout. The FAN3100 provides fast MOSFET switching performance that helps maximize energy efficiency in high frequency power converter designs. The FAN3100 driver integrates the MillerDrive structure for the final output stage. This bipolar MOSFET combination provides high peak current during the Miller plateau phase of the MOSFET turn-on/turn-off process to minimize switching losses while providing rail-to-rail voltage swing and reverse current capability. The FAN3100 also offers dual inputs that can be configured to operate in non-reversing or reversing mode, enabling an enable function to be implemented. If one or both inputs are left unconnected, internal resistors bias the inputs so that the output pulls low to keep the power MOSFETs off. The FAN3100 is available in leadless finished 2x2mm 6-lead molded leadless encapsulation (MLP) for smallest size with excellent thermal performance, or industry standard 5-pin SOT23.
